Doctoral Students

Welcome, doctoral applicants!

We are excited that you are applying for admission to The King’s University. Here you can view admissions criteria, required documentation, and instructions for applying to our Doctor of Ministry program.

Doctoral Students have earned an accredited Master of Divinity degree or its equivalent.

Graduate Degree Requirement
  • Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree, or its equivalent, from an institution that is accredited by a recognized regional or national accreditation body.
    • Priority consideration will be given to applicants with a graduate degree GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Other master’s degrees will be considered in combination with bridgework to reach MDiv equivalency.
    • Bridgework applicants enroll in graduate-level courses at TKU to “bridge the gap” between their earned master’s degree and an MDiv. In some cases, these courses can be taken concurrent to their doctoral coursework.
Official Transcripts
  • Official final transcript from your master’s degree-issuing institution(s) sent directly to the Office of Admissions.
  • If you have obtained additional graduate- or doctoral-level credit, you must have separate official transcripts sent from those schools as well.
  • Transcripts from any school not based in the U.S. must be individually evaluated and/or translated for U.S. equivalency.
    • Non-English transcripts must have an evaluated English translation
    • An evaluation by a recognized foreign credential evaluation service indicating US equivalency of the degree/coursework must be sent to the Office of Admissions
    • Foreign credential evaluation service: www.wes.org
