A prophetic word inspired Oli Snyder to eventually leave the corporate world to study theology at The King’s University.
“About ten years ago, while I was sitting outside the Dallas Convention Center during a business event and reading my Bible, a man from Korea approached me and told me that he was a prophet of God and that he had some words for me,” Oli explained. “Once he had my attention, he prophesied about many things including the birth of our son in the exact month, and about a seminary school I would be attending for ministry in ten years.”
Through the years following that prophetic word, Oli visited numerous Christian schools in the Texas area, and didn’t feel a calling to any of them. She found out about The King’s University when an announcement about the new Southlake campus was made at Gateway Church.
“The Lord whispered that He had brought the school to me,” Oli exclaimed. “His perfection blew my mind! I went to the informational meeting and dedication night, and my soul was beyond energized as my spirit was led by His. It was a confirmation beyond words, and I could not wait to get started.”
Oli, originally from Serbia, has been pleased with her classroom experience at TKU.
“I have been challenged in my theology, encouraged in faith, and led to agree with the Lord to enter into ministry,” she said.
To aid in her preparation for future ministry, the TKU senior completed practicums in the Global and Pastoral areas of Gateway Church, which she says were a highlight of her program.
“The unique relationship between TKU and Gateway Church has created an extraordinary platform for practicum courses,” Oli explained. “It’s not common to get college credit while participating in baptisms, visiting church members in the hospital, helping to organize church-wide events, preparing for mission trips, serving with local outreach and meeting some remarkable people.”
Oli encourages prospective students to come to TKU.
“Henry Blackaby once said, ‘Find out where God is at work, and join Him there.’ It is no doubt that God is at work at Gateway Church, and TKU offers the opportunity for students to meet Him here.”
