Courtney Widelitz was a full-time makeup artist before feeling God call her to The King’s University to pursue a Masters in Practical Theology. She had a growing desire to understand and know the Word of God and be able to live it and share it with others. Born and raised in California, her family moved to Southlake, Texas, where she later became a member of Gateway Church. It was at Gateway that she first heard about TKU and Gateway’s partnership with the university. “If Gateway had anything to do with it, it was sure to be the real deal,” she said.
With a passion for people Courtney loves encouraging women in their God-given identity. She believes in order to steward this passion it is important to have a solid foundation in God’s Word and pursuing her degree at TKU is helping her gain that foundation. She shares, “At The King’s we’re put in an environment that caters to our passions and callings being developed. There is always someone to learn from and someone to walk alongside and encourage.”
Courtney says this about TKU; “From day one it was made very clear that nothing is more important than your relationship with Jesus.” She advises any prospective students who may be feeling a tug to go to seminary, to be faithful with what God is calling them to do. She goes on to say that TKU is a place where you can discover and develop your gifts and strengths, investigate the depths of God’s Word under some of the greatest teachers and be planted in a community of people chasing God’s heart.
