The King’s University (TKU) is pleased to announce the Board of Trustees’ appointment of Dr. Irini Fambro as the University’s president, effective January 2, 2024. Dr. Fambro has served on TKU’s Board of Trustees since 2020.  After prayerful consideration and due diligence, the Presidential Search Committee in partnership with the Gateway Church Board of Elders submitted their selection to the Board of Trustees, who unanimously approved Dr. Fambro’s appointment in December 2023.

“I am excited about the appointment of Dr. Irini Fambro as president of The King’s University,” says TKU Chancellor and Gateway Church Senior Pastor, Robert Morris. “She brings extensive leadership experience to this position in addition to years of serving in higher education. Years ago, God gave me a vision to equip the next generation of leaders for the kingdom of God. That work was started by TKU Founder Dr. Jack Hayford, and I truly believe Dr. Fambro is uniquely gifted, qualified, and called to continue fulfilling this great vision. With the addition of Dr. Fambro, I know TKU will continue its accelerated growth and make an impact for the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world.”

Dr. Irini Fambro is uniquely qualified for this role because of her extensive background in ministry leadership and higher education. In the realm of ministry leadership, Dr. Fambro has devoted over five years to serving as a youth pastor, followed by a successful tenure as a college pastor, which she undertook after becoming ordained through the Wesleyan Church and completing her master’s degree. Her dedication to ministry is both admirable and impactful.

Within higher education, Dr. Fambro has made significant contributions as a curriculum development expert, teacher, and served as a valued member of TKU’s Board. Her educational accomplishments are impressive, having earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in management from The University of Alabama, followed by ordination through the Wesleyan Church and the attainment of a Master of Divinity degree from Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School. Her academic journey culminated in the completion of a PhD in organizational leadership with a concentration in ecclesial leadership from Regent University.

Dr. Fambro’s achievements extend beyond her formal education and ministry leadership roles. She is a writer and the author of the book Made for More and operated her own consulting firm, Intelligent Leadership, which emerged from her dissertation work on multiple intelligences in leadership. She also has her own podcast, Smarter Than You Think. In December 2023, she accepted a position as president of The King’s University in Southlake, Texas. Dr. Fambro exemplifies our deep commitment to empowering women in leadership as she represents the University’s first female president.

“I am honored to run this next leg of the race with TKU. God is moving here at The King’s – it’s an exciting time to be a part of it all.”
