Anna M. Hayford
Sweet. Honest. Open. Steadfast. It is with these four beautifully simple words that Founder and Chancellor Emeritus of The King’s University, Dr. Jack Hayford, described his beloved wife of 62 years.
Through her 60 years of service alongside Pastor Jack, Anna Hayford supported and magnified his ministry in many ways, both seen and unseen. Together they served at The Church On The Way in Van Nuys, California, for 31 years, during which time the congregation grew to 10,000 members. A licensed minister herself, Anna encouraged many through her keen spiritual insight, down-to-earth personality, and lighthearted sense of humor.
Known as a strong woman of faith, Anna was gracious and hospitable. Said to be loved and admired by everyone, her legacy will live on for generations to come through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as the churches and ministries inspired by her life. Anna passed away in March 2017.
Honoring a Legacy
As a testament to her life, marriage, and ministry, the Anna M. Hayford Scholarship Fund was established by family, friends, and ministry partners on the occasion of her 80th birthday in 2013. This scholarship benefits women in ministry who will be trained and equipped at The King’s University based upon the model of ministry Anna Hayford demonstrated throughout her entire life.
“As I reflect on the Anna M. Hayford Scholarship, I think about how my mother’s story can embolden people to persevere toward completion of their degrees. My mother was passionate about pursuing God, and she did that with all of her heart, soul and strength. In the home and outside of the home, everything she did was for the glory of Jesus Christ. That focus and passion has become a prime example for me: no matter how menial the task or how ‘exalted’ the ministry, everything is all about Jesus.” (Click here to read the full story from Rebecca Bauer, daughter of Anna and Jack Hayford.)
By making a donation to the Anna M. Hayford Scholarship Fund, you honor the legacy of Anna Hayford, by enabling The King’s University to continue educating those who are committed to living their lives focused on extending the hope of the gospel to a world in desperate need.
