Born in Forth Worth, Chandler Schmitz grew up in the panhandle of Texas and later returned to the Dallas-Fort Worth area to pursue a degree in Theological Studies at TKU’s main campus in Southlake. Obeying the voice of the Lord combined with her love for studying God’s Word, were the biggest factors in leading her to pursue this degree at The King’s.
“I strongly believe that this education will give me a knowledge base and Biblical foundation, which will be advantageous to any career field or life phase I could ever encounter,” says Chandler.
Also factoring into her decision to attend The King’s was the credibility of Gateway Church and her respect for its leadership, which is closely aligned with TKU. “The church has a proven track record,” she says. “And it is very clear that Gateway’s leadership is world class.”
As an older student, Chandler’s top priority was not the “college experience,” but she was pleasantly surprised at the investment TKU makes to give students a well-rounded experience. She ends by saying, “It’s not only a great school, but a great environment as well. I think for students called to ministry or Christian studies, they could not be in a better school, under better leadership, or associated with a better church.”
