FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Southlake, Texas – July 1, 2025 — The King’s University is pleased to announce the appointment of Eric Scott as Vice President of University Relations. A longtime member of The King’s family, Scott enters his tenth academic year with the university and brings with him a deep understanding of its mission, culture, and calling.

Dr. Irini Fambro, President of The King’s University, shared her affirmation of the appointment:

“Eric Scott now serves as Vice President of University Relations. Entering his tenth academic year at The King’s, Mr. Scott fully embodies the heart and mission of the university. In this role, he amplifies our voice and vision—building bridges between mission and marketplace, and between church and community. Through strategic communication, collaborative partnerships, and advancement initiatives, this role is vital to expanding our influence and securing the resources that propel us boldly into the future.”

Scott brings a rich background in ministry, higher education, and leadership development. For nearly a decade, he served in The King’s Office of Student Development, where he led initiatives focused on student formation, spiritual life, community engagement, and leadership training. In that role, he shaped much of the student experience at The King’s—mentoring students, developing campus programs, and cultivating a community deeply rooted in discipleship and spiritual growth.

Now, as Vice President of University Relations, Scott will oversee a portfolio that includes strategic communications, marketing, advancement, alumni engagement, and external partnerships. He will also serve on the President’s Advisory Team, advising institutional leadership on matters related to public image, constituent relations, and resource development.

Reflecting on this new chapter, Scott shared:

“It’s a privilege to step into this role during such a pivotal time for The King’s. I deeply believe in the mission of this university and the transformative work it does in the lives of our students. We’re not just training minds—we’re shaping Spirit-formed leaders who are grounded in biblical truth, filled with compassion, and prepared to serve wherever God calls them.”

He continued:

“University Relations is more than a communications function—it’s about cultivating meaningful relationships that align with our mission and sustain our vision. I look forward to working alongside our alumni, churches, donors, and partners to strengthen those bonds and expand the reach of TKU’s story.”

Scott’s appointment comes as The King’s University enters a season of strategic renewal. With a refreshed brand identity, growing academic programs, and increasing engagement with both global and local ministry communities, the university is positioning itself to serve the Church with renewed clarity and creativity. University Relations plays a vital role in that process—ensuring the message and mission of TKU are clearly communicated, deeply understood, and broadly supported.

Scott originally joined TKU in 2016, bringing with him over two decades of ministry experience. After years of serving the spiritual and developmental needs of students, he transitioned to the Office of University Relations, most recently holding the position of Executive Director of Student Development. Throughout his tenure at The King’s, Eric has played a vital role in stabilizing and strengthening institutional operations across multiple departments. He provided key transitional leadership during seasons of organizational change that helped sustain momentum and maintain morale.

Under his direction, the university saw a dramatic increase in student retention, the yield rate of prospective students, and healthier enrollment outcomes. His leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic was especially impactful as he led the expansion of The King’s digital footprint by launching live-streaming for all chapel services and public-facing events. He also designed and executed virtual recruiting strategies that helped the institution maintain strong enrollment, both during the pandemic and after. His ability to anticipate challenges while offering steady, strategic, solutions-oriented leadership continues to foster resilience and strategic growth at TKU.

A gifted communicator and thoughtful leader, Scott holds a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from The King’s University and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Oral Roberts University. He is a former pastor with a background in theology and leadership, and he brings a shepherd’s heart and a missional mindset to every aspect of his work.

His approach to communication is deeply rooted in his understanding of the gospel:

“Communication isn’t just about clarity—it’s about calling. When we tell the story of The King’s University, we’re inviting others to partner in the mission of raising up leaders who will serve the Church and fulfill the Great Commission. That’s a sacred task, and one I take seriously.”
