Southlake, TX: The King’s University announces the new Bachelor of Ministry Leadership (BML) program starting Fall 2022. Designed for students who feel called to full-time work in vocational ministry in a church or parachurch setting, the new BML degree offers specific training for several areas of ministry. “This program is for those who sense a vocational calling of some kind into ministry leadership,” says program director Dr. Daniel Davis.
The key elements that will provide the biggest benefit to students are the program’s four optional concentrations: Pastoral Ministry, Ministry Administration, Christian Formation and Discipleship Ministry, and Next Generation Ministry. Each of these concentrations will lean toward specific areas of ministry as part of the well-rounded program. “Students who choose one of the concentrations are not committing their lives to that specific work,” says Dr. Davis. They will simply devote 18 semester hours of the program’s 124 total hours. Here’s an overview of each concentration:
Pastoral Ministry
Ideally, for students who are called to be senior pastors, associate pastors, and chaplains, this path gives a biblical and theological foundation on which to preach and have influence in their churches and communities.
Ministry Administration
This is for students who feel called to the ministry and wish to develop skills in ministry administration, personnel and finance management.
Christian Formation and Discipleship Ministry
This concentration focuses on those who feel called to disciple people and lead spiritual formation and small group programs in their churches.
Next Generation Ministry
For those who are called to reach the next generation, this concentration focuses on training students who will lead and develop programming for children, adolescents, and families.
This new degree program represents a big step forward in fulfilling TKU’s mission to equip men and women to become the next generation of Christ-like, Spirit-empowered, transformational leaders for the global church. “TKU’s Bachelor of Ministry Leadership program isn’t simply a one-size-fits-all ministry education,” says Dr. Davis. “If you’re not sure exactly where you fit in ministry, this program will help you discover exactly where you’re called to serve.”
